The political landscape is becoming a minefield for a growing number of nonprofits and foundations. Whether you’ve been explicitly targeted or looking to feel more prepared, you’ll want to join the next CA Policy Forum. A panel of two of the state’s most experienced nonprofit attorneys will offer an expert briefing, guidance and tools to help you better understand and address the federal pressure or legal threats that your organization might be facing. Our speakers will break down complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance. 


You'll learn how to:

  • Identify key legal red flags
  • Implement practical strategies to protect your organization
  • Navigate compliance challenges and mitigate risks

This is a chance to get sensitive, practical support to ensure your organization is prepared and protected. You'll also learn about the launch of the Defending Equity Initiative, a new freestanding nonprofit organization that will be a pro bono legal services provider for 501(c)(3) organizations unfairly targeted for their DEI programs, support of immigrants, or other progressive work.

The California Policy Forum is a unique partnership between CalNonprofits and Philanthropy California (Northern California Grantmakers, Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, Southern California Grantmakers) and the League of California Community Foundations. The California Policy Forum brings together the voice of nonprofits and philanthropy in our state and amplifies the sector's power and priorities to policymakers and experts.
