This session shines a spotlight on the central role of community-based organizations (CBOs) in California’s Medi-Cal system, highlighting their integration through CalAIM, and exploring the implications of SB 324, the bill designed to expand CBO participation in Medi-Cal delivery. 

-You’ll gain a clear overview of CalAIM’s framework and how it introduces infrastructure and capacity support, such as billing systems, staffing, and data sharing. 

-We’ll also delve into how SB 324 advances this mission by requiring managed care plans, when covering Enhanced Care Management or Community Supports, to contract directly or indirectly with CBOs that are available locally and have proven experience in delivering these services. 

-In addition to policy insights, we'll provide a real-world lens through a CBO partnership case study, offering practical examples of collaboration, impact, and best practices.
